One of our most fun and energetic employees, Karen Murphy joined Fleming & Van Metre in 2003 on the heels of leading Team USA to a third-place finish at the Women’s World Cup. No, wait a minute. That wasn’t Karen. That was Mia Hamm. Well, either way, Karen did join FVM in 2003 on the heels of playing soccer for DeSales University. And she is one of our most fun and energetic employees – one who provides a fresh perspective on marketing initiatives, research, ad development, and media issues.
While studying Business Communications at DeSales, Karen completed a trio of internships – including one at a Lehigh Valley-based agency, which involved writing press releases for doorknobs and working with Mack Trucks. She also interned for the Bethlehem Musikfest Association, where she helped coordinate the annual Musikfest concert (featuring such recording stars as Shaggy, the Guess Who, and Blue Oyster Cult, as well as a polka tent). Karen loves reading books about Ireland by Maeve Binchy. She’s also a burgeoning golf superstar. Her aunt gave her an old set of clubs, and she’s been hitting the driving range and 9-hole courses ever since.
A lifelong resident of Northeast Philadelphia, Karen resides there with her husband, Dennis.
